Things are looking up in the economy - and at AirSprint.
With the outcome of the recent United States Presidential election, improvements in the Canadian energy and U.S. technology sectors, and the overall uptick in the housing market, AirSprint President Chris Richer says he's conservatively optimistic about the future.
Fall 2012 marks a major milestone in AirSprint's 13 years of operation. Taking delivery of the first of 11 new airplanes in September 2012 officially launched its fleet conversion to the Cessna Citation CJ2+ aircraft (CJ2+). AirSprint Fraction Owners will continue to have access to the Pilatus PC12's during the transition, which will occur over the next 24-36 months.
Despite what some would have expected over the last several years of economic contraction, the U.S. luxury market expanded tremendously from $1.2 trillion in 2009 to $1.6 trillion in 2011. And while the U.S. will continue to be the single most important market for the luxury sector in the short term, China is poised to ultimately be the largest market for luxury products and services in the not too distant future.
Through 2011, Canada continued to be the largest trading partner with the United States, followed in rank order by China, Mexico, Japan and Germany. Over 8 million U.S. jobs and another 2 million Canadian jobs are directly linked to over $480 billion in bilateral trade that has resulted from the longstanding U.S.-Canada trade relationship.
The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) granted AirSprint U.S., Inc. the authority to conduct fractional ownership operations using U.S. based aircraft and pilots in June 2011. Now, just a few short months later, AirSprint has expanded its U.S. presence with additional offices in San Francisco and Los Angeles.
AirSprint and Luxus Vacation Properties were honoured when Brett Wilson invited us to become contributing sponsors for Operation: Western Front, a fundraiser to benefit military families. The event hosted 900 guests who were encouraged to sport safari wear or the colours and styles of the military.
AirSprint recently made a donation to the Dreams Take Flight organization and was invited to send an employee to join Dreams Take Flight on an organized trip to Disneyland. Assistant Chief Pilot Paul Accursi offered to volunteer his time, and in the following story, he shares his experience.
AirSprint Value #1: Safety - without Compromise. This is the first in a series of articles to promote the values that guide our actions here at AirSprint. Our first, and most essential, value is Safety - without Compromise. Our clients have put their trust in us to fly and safeguard the people that are most important in their lives. We take that trust very seriously.
Over the last year, and in an effort to sustain our position as the industry leader, we have taken steps to strengthen our Senior Management Team and to more clearly identify the roles and responsibilities that each of us accepts in the day-to-day operations and growth plans of the company. While we have expanded the Senior Management Team, many of the faces and talent remain the same. We have, however, brought greater focus to our individual responsibilities as well as to our continual commitment as a safety conscious, service driven organization.
