Private Jet Departures / Arrivals in Villeneuve
Private Jet Travel to / from Villeneuve, Alberta
Tucked just northwest of Edmonton in central Alberta, the hamlet of Villeneuve centers around a quietly vital aviation hub, wide‑open prairie skies, gently rolling terrain, Michel First Nations heritage, and a modest but welcoming rural atmosphere. Surrounded by cultivated fields and tangled scrubland, it feels somehow removed from city bustle yet within easy reach of regional energy. The terrain is softly elevated—averaging around 676 metres—and offers open vistas and a sense of spacious rhythm that contrasts with urban density.
Still firmly in place and operating under unchanged official name, the Edmonton/Villeneuve Airport serves as the hamlet’s anchor and primary attraction, hosting general aviation and flight training year‑round. It is the busiest smaller airport in the Edmonton region with two asphalt runways and more than 70,000 annual movements recorded as of the last available data. For landscape lovers, nearby undeveloped pathways and old transportation corridors offer cycling, walking and quiet reflection along field edges and embankments—perfect for spring wildflowers or autumn light—but with no renaming or closures reported as of 2025. The nearby Michel First Nations community touches the hamlet with cultural presence and history, dating back to early Quebec settlement waves, though specific visitor centres are scarce; nonetheless, the sense of shared community remains integral and unaltered.
A standout landmark appears beyond Villeneuve proper: the Alberta Central Railway Museum, located east in Wetaskiwin. This rural museum continues operating under the same name, preserving locomotives, vintage cars and a historic grain elevator, with occasional train rides on a one‑mile loop. It brings railway heritage vividly to life and offers a distinct contrast to Villeneuve’s aviation story.
Villeneuve is a destination where patience and space replace high energy, where aviation and prairie life meet in understated harmony. Its deepening quiet holds invitation to pause, observe and appreciate rural identity framed by flight and wide Alberta light.

What is positioning and repositioning?
Positioning or repositioning typically occurs when an aircraft must travel empty to pick-up passengers at another location or return to its homebase after completing a passenger drop-off. These flights are commonly known as Empty Legs. At AirSprint, our Fractional Owners never pay more for the positioning or repositioning flights required to complete their mission—they only pay for their time on-board. In contrast, with other operators in Canada, a client requesting a pick-up will be responsible for covering the associated costs of positioning an aircraft to their location.
