While private jet travel is often associated with the ultra-rich, the truth is that it is a business enabler. Indeed, AirSprint’s Founder, Judson Macor, pioneered the introduction of Fractional Jet Ownership in Canada, opening the skies to a broader group of Canadians and putting a powerful business tool conveniently at their disposal.
Today, AirSprint delivers customized private aviation services to more than 600 Fractional Owners.
The recipe behind the company’s success is straightforward: Fractional Owners purchase or lease a share of an aircraft. They pay an Annual Overhead Fee that covers all fixed costs, including pilot salaries, crew training, insurance, hangar storage, maintenance, and administrative support. In return, they are allocated a certain number of flight hours per year, beginning at 25 hours, and pay a fixed hourly rate for the time spent on board. Owners are guaranteed access to their jet or an identical model with just 24 hours’ notice.
Now, the process to book a flight has become even simpler, with the introduction of the new AirSprint Owners App. Launched to about 1,500 individual users on March 12, 2026, the response has been extremely positive.
The new Owners App has been designed to provide a faster and more seamless way to manage your travel with AirSprint.
“We take the feedback from our Fractional Owners very seriously,” explained AirSprint President and CEO, James Elian. “The inspiration to build this new App came from their desire to add two key features to our Fractional Ownership program: Flight Sharing and Hours Exchange.”
Elian said the AirSprint team recognized that technology would be critically important to launching the new Owners App and facilitating the two new programs. It seemed to be the ideal time to revamp AirSprint’s existing Owner interface, with a focus on streamlining the booking experience and simplifying account access.
“We wanted to deliver an intuitive, industry-leading App experience for our Owners,” said Elian. “I think one of the nicest things about the new Owners App is you can easily see your account info, to understand how many hours you have left and how many you’ve booked.”
The booking experience itself is flexible and greatly improved, while confidentiality is assured. Key preferences are remembered, so Owners can make faster bookings.
“We have made countless minor adjustments that overall lead to an improved experience,” noted Elian.
AirSprint’s new Owners App widens access to Empty Leg flights, too. Instead of only a daily customer email listing Empty Leg opportunities, Owners can review available flights in real time, complete with pricing.
ENHANCING THE OWNERSHIP EXPERIENCE
Sharing and Exchange Made Easy
Driven by Fractional Owner requests, AirSprint’s new App includes two new exciting functionalities: optional Flight Sharing and Hours Exchange.
“We’ve heard it would be nice to share flights with other Fractional Owners,” said Elian. “For instance, if Owners happen to be going to the same location, the Flight Sharing feature now allows them to easily identify opportunities to share the cost of each flight.”
The new App allows Fractional Owners to take advantage of Flight Sharing, if they choose, in two ways. First, the My Network feature helps them create a private group of other Owners they already know and with whom they want to share flights.
“You can post a flight to your existing private group (My Network), your contacts will see it, and they can decide if they want to join your flight. If so, they’ll share the cost 50/50,” said Elian.
Second, Fractional Owners can offer a flight to the entire AirSprint Network of 600-plus Owners. If someone opts to fly along with them, costs would be shared—although the hours are deducted from whoever originated the flight.
“This is a tool to meet other like-minded individuals,” continued Elian. “It allows you to extend the amount of flying you do, because when you join a flight, you’re not using your own allocated hours. Plus, you are splitting the costs.”
Owner feedback pushed the Flight Sharing program along. As AirSprint grew, the company received more requests to share flights. Now, Owners travelling to common destinations can check the App to see who else might be going their way.
Flight Sharing lets you share flights with other Fractional Owners, helping reduce costs while expanding your travel flexibility.
“Not only is this attractive from an economic perspective, but it can be good for the environment, too,” said Elian. “AirSprint’s flying has been 100% carbon offset since January 1, 2025. From an environmental standpoint, we found that some Fractional Owners also wondered about the benefits of essentially sending one plane instead of two.”
Elian explained that Fractional Owners purchase a set number of hours per year, but their need to fly isn’t always consistent. In some years they may fly more; while the next year, they fly less. That’s where the new Hours Exchange program can be very helpful.
“We have seen peaks and valleys in Owner utilization over the past 26 years,” he said. “We try to give Owners some ability to customize their Ownership experience, offering them the ability to carry last year’s hours forward, or access some of next year’s hours now. The Hours Exchange program was the next logical step.”
With a few simple taps, Fractional Owners can submit a request to buy or sell up to 15% of their annual Allocated Hours (their Ownership share). When their needs are automatically matched to a buyer or seller, they’ll be notified.
Elian said the Hours Exchange function also helps AirSprint maintain the integrity of its booking system. Creating a link between Owners who want to buy or sell hours maintains the total number of hours available, ensuring that Owners get the access they have purchased.
In addition to Flight Sharing and Hours Exchange, the new AirSprint Owners App delivers comprehensive functionality for simplified account management. With a few taps, Fractional Owners can see their flight usage, book a new flight, review future bookings, take advantage of real-time Empty Leg listings, share flights and exchange hours with other Owners.
Elian pointed out that Owners can even delegate App access to executive assistants, business partners and family members, for either corporate or personal accounts. Each person can be assigned a level of access corresponding to the Owner’s preferences.

From an Ownership perspective, the flexibility and advantage of Flight Sharing are significant.
Let’s take the example of two AirSprint Fractional Owners who have each purchased 50 hours of flying per year. They both happen to fly frequently between Toronto and South Florida, oftentimes over holiday weekends. If they start sharing those flights, their individual purchased hours will go further.
